Lena’s starred in plenty of projects since Game of Thrones ended in 2019. Currently, she’s appearing in another HBO show — specifically, the limited series White House Plumbers.
But in a new interview with People, Lena revealed that figuring out her next move post-Game of Thrones wasn’t as easy as some would think.
Lena referred to the massive success of Game of Thrones as a “surprise” but admitted that she didn’t expect similar levels of visibility after it concluded.
“[T]here was no part of me that went, ‘Oh, it’s done now. Life’s going to be easy,'” she said. “It opened doors, it made certain things easier.”
“It also made things feel harder because you think, ‘What do I do?'”
Lena also shared that even though they “don’t really talk about” her acting career, her two children Wylie and Teddy have started to catch on that she was part of such a famous show.
“If someone says, ‘Oh, you’re in Game of Thrones,’ my youngest now says things like, ‘What is Game of Thrones?'” she said. “In fact, the other day she went, ‘My mommy is in…’ And I was like, ‘You don’t tell people!'”
