A group of tourists went on a safari in the Kruger National Park. People had already driven far into the savannah, the jeep was moving at a speed of 50 km/h. Suddenly, a giraffe appeared behind the car — becoming interested in the tourists, it quickly overtook and then overtook the car.

The video was taken by one of the group’s guides. The people who noticed the giraffe were not too worried at first; no one thought that these creatures were capable of running so fast.

However, the animal managed to catch up with the safari jeep without any extra effort. Then, as if as a joke, the giraffe overtook the car — the driver deliberately showed the speedometer with a mark of 50 km/h.

Giraffes only seem to be large and clumsy creatures. They are able to run fast and, if necessary, go into a gallop, reaching 55-60 km/h. That is, at short distances, giraffes can easily outrun a racehorse.

The giraffe ran onto the road and stopped. The driver of the jeep had to reverse:

Giraffes do this quite rarely. These animals are not very interested in people in parks.
